“Low for long” monetary policy was so important, and lasted so long, that it heavily influenced the financial sector’s structure, business models, and the mindsets and behaviours of executives, investors and depositors.

Humans tend to be poor at responding to paradigm shifts, so the sector has only made a fraction of the necessary adjustments to transition to, and prosper in, what we call “The New Monetary Order.” Silicon Valley Bank’s collapse illustrates this well.
