Beijing and San Francisco Lead in EV Market Share

These cities aren’t static in adopting electric vehicles.

The writing is on the wall for governments and industry alike: Electric vehicles (EVs) are only going to increase in popularity. Some automakers have committed to producing solely EVs in the near future, while governments around the world are getting creative in prodding consumers to go electric. 

In our Urban Mobility Readiness Index, the more EVs on the road, the better. It’s no coincidence that many of the cities with the highest EV market shares – like San Francisco, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, and Helsinki – have top overall placements on our index.
